The Ramayana as a feature-length animation, made jointly by Japanese and Indian studios over several years. Yugo Sako conceived it after reading an archaeological report on Ayodhya; the production was opposed in India at the time by groups objecting to a foreign studio animating a sacred text, and it had almost no Indian release for years. It has since become widely admired, and the Archive copy is a 2025 remaster. Ram Mohan, the founder of Indian animation, was a co-director. The Internet Archive copy was uploaded with its format details disguised, so playback is withheld here; the entry stays listed and the Archive's own page remains reachable.
