Palay Khan (1986)

Palay Khan is a 1986 Hindi action drama directed by Ashim Bhattacharya, with Jackie Shroff in the title role of a Pathan hero and Poonam Dhillon as the woman he loves. Anupam Kher and Shakti Kapoor appear in supporting roles. Made in the years right after Hero had turned Jackie Shroff into a star, it casts him as a man of honour and fierce loyalty who takes up arms against oppressors, in a period-flavoured tale of tribal pride, romance and revenge. It is one of the lesser-known titles of his early career.
