Karthik, a cheerful young architect in Chennai, spots Sandhya, a doctor, and pursues her with charm and persistence until she falls for him. Their romance is light and sunny, but a sudden accident changes everything. Karthik's life becomes entangled with that of a young boy, his father, and a man who blames the child for the death of his own family and is determined to kill him. The second half turns into a chase across Kerala as Karthik tries to protect the boy from a relentless avenger. Vishnuvardhan's film is split almost cleanly between romance and thriller, and is remembered for Yuvan Shankar Raja's music and the screen pairing of Arya and Trisha. Telugu actor and director J. D. Chakravarthy plays the menacing antagonist.
