Andhrudu (2005)

Andhrudu ("the Andhra man") was one of the films that moved Gopichand from villain roles to leading-man parts. He plays a police officer of firm principles, with Gowri Pandit as the young woman he loves, and the film mixes romance, family sentiment and clashes with criminals. The veteran director-actor K. Viswanath plays an important elder role, adding emotional weight. It was the first film directed by Paruchuri Murali, and its songs by Kalyani Malik were popular. In Hindi it has circulated as Loha The Iron Man.
