Aakasha Gopuram (2008)

Mohanlal plays a famous and ruthless architect who has built his reputation and fortune at the cost of others, and who lives in fear of being overtaken by younger talent. When a spirited young woman, played by Nithya Menen, appears at his door to remind him of a promise from years ago, she rekindles his ambition and his guilt alike, and pushes him toward a dangerous act of defiance. Aakasha Gopuram ("tower in the sky") is a Malayalam adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's 1892 play The Master Builder, directed by veteran K. P. Kumaran. It was one of Nithya Menen's first lead roles. A serious, literary film rather than a typical Mohanlal entertainer.
