Kodi and Anbu are twin brothers raised in a small town in Tamil Nadu. Kodi has grown up in party politics, inheriting his father's passion, and is steadily rising as a grassroots leader, while Anbu is a mild-mannered teacher who wants nothing to do with power. Kodi is in love with Rudhra, an equally ambitious politician from a rival party, but when an environmental scandal and an election throw them onto opposite sides, ambition starts to matter more than love. Dhanush plays both brothers, and the film is notable for casting Trisha in a sharply written grey role, a departure from her usual image. Anupama Parameswaran made her Tamil debut as Anbu's love interest, and Santhosh Narayanan composed the music.
