Periyasamy is the respected head of a large family in a village in Tamil Nadu, though his grown children have long since moved away to the cities. When an astrologer predicts that one of the family will die, and the lockdown sends his children and grandchildren back to the ancestral home, the old house fills with noise and old quarrels. Eeswaran, a cheerful local man devoted to Periyasamy, keeps the household together, falls for one of the granddaughters, and realises that the danger is real: a man with an old grudge against the family is waiting for his chance. Eeswaran is a village family entertainer from Suseenthiran, shot quickly during the pandemic and released for Pongal 2021. It was noted for Silambarasan's striking weight loss for the role, and veteran director Bharathiraja plays the patriarch.
