Brahmanaidu is the undisputed leader of his villages in Palnadu, a man the poor worship and the wicked fear, who settles disputes with a word and enemies with his fists. When a rival faction and its scheming leaders set out to break his hold, a cycle of revenge begins that drags his family and the women who love him into the conflict. Palanati Brahmanaidu reunited Balakrishna with director B. Gopal, the team behind the faction blockbusters Samarasimha Reddy and Narasimha Naidu, and pairs him with Sonali Bendre and Aarthi Agarwal, with music by Mani Sharma. Its larger-than-life action, including scenes in which the hero's power seems to bend even machines to his will, did not win over audiences at the time but later made the film a cult favourite with internet audiences.
