Oru Marubhoomikkadha ("a desert story") is a 2011 Malayalam comedy directed by Priyadarshan, reuniting him with Mohanlal, the actor with whom he made many of Malayalam cinema's best-loved comedies. Mohanlal leads with his long-time comic partner Mukesh, with Bhavana and Lakshmi Rai as the female leads and Hindi film veteran Shakti Kapoor in a supporting part. Set largely among Malayalis working in the Gulf, it mixes mistaken identities, chases and broad slapstick with the familiar Priyadarshan ensemble style. A light entertainer for fans of the Mohanlal-Priyadarshan pairing.
