Bharath is a tough police officer in Mumbai on the trail of a dangerous crime syndicate. Behind his mission lies a personal wound: his father, an honest and loved politician, was attacked and left in a coma by the same men, and has only recently woken up. To protect his fragile father, Bharath creates an elaborate pretence that nothing in the family's world has changed, all while hunting down those responsible. Power is the Kannada remake of the Telugu blockbuster Dookudu (2011), with Puneeth Rajkumar in the Mahesh Babu role. It mixes action, family emotion and comedy, and was one of the big Kannada hits of 2014, released in Hindi for a wider audience.
