Chamku is orphaned as a child in a caste massacre in Bihar and grows up among Naxalite rebels, who turn him into a hardened fighter. Captured as a young man, he is offered a choice by an officer who runs a secret operation: become an assassin for the state and eliminate its enemies, or die. Chamku takes on a new identity in Mumbai, falls in love with a schoolteacher, and begins to long for an ordinary life, but both his handlers and the past he fled are closing in. Kabeer Kaushik, who earlier made the acclaimed Sehar, mixes political background with action thriller, and Irrfan Khan stands out as a ruthless handler.
