K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018)

Raised in poverty after his mother's death, Rocky arrives in Bombay as a child with one promise to keep: to die rich and powerful. By the late 1970s he is the city's most feared enforcer, and a group of powerful men offer him a job no one else will take, the assassination of Garuda, heir to the Kolar Gold Fields, where thousands of enslaved labourers dig under the whip. Rocky lets himself be taken in as a slave to get close to his target. The story is narrated decades later by a journalist who wrote about Rocky. K.G.F: Chapter 1 became the biggest Kannada film of its time and a national sensation in its Hindi version, turning Yash into a pan-Indian star. It won National Film Awards for Best Action Direction and Best Special Effects, and was followed by K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022).
