Gentleman (2020)

Bharath has a rare sleeping disorder: he can be awake only a few hours a day before he falls into a deep sleep he cannot fight. He lives a quiet, careful life and dotes on his little niece, until she is kidnapped and he finds himself racing his own body clock to find her. His search leads him into a criminal racket operating behind the medical world, connected to the illegal trade in human eggs. Gentleman is a Kannada thriller with an unusual hook, giving Prajwal Devaraj, son of veteran Devaraj, one of his more distinctive roles, with Nishvika Naidu as the woman who helps him. The music is by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, later known for Kantara. It was produced by director Guru Deshpande and released in early 2020, just before cinemas shut for the pandemic.
