Amrithadhare (2005)

Amrithadhare follows a young urban couple, played by Dhyan and Ramya, whose love and new marriage are tested when serious trouble enters their lives. The film is a gentle, emotional drama about companionship and courage, told in the clean, middle-class style of director Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar, who had earlier made the hit America America. Its most talked-about feature is a guest appearance by Amitabh Bachchan, which remains his only appearance in a Kannada film and drew wide attention at the time. The film was well received for Ramya's performance, which helped establish her as one of the leading Kannada actresses of the 2000s.
