Veerabhadra is a Telugu mass action film in the faction-feud tradition that made Nandamuri Balakrishna one of the biggest crowd-pullers of his generation. He plays a man whose calm present hides a fierce past in a world of rival clans, and the story moves between romance and violent confrontations with the enemies who come looking for him. Sadha and Tanushree Dutta, the former Miss India Universe, play the heroines, in what was Tanushree's Telugu debut. Mani Sharma composed the songs. The film was aimed squarely at Balakrishna's fan base, with punch dialogues and large-scale fights.
