Years after Aarusaamy, the fearless police officer of Tirunelveli, wiped out the gangster Perumal Pichai, the crime lord's sons are ready for revenge. Aarusaamy's son Ramasaamy grows up unaware of his family's past, but when he learns the truth, he joins the police and returns to the same ground his father once ruled, now facing the eldest son, Ravana Pichai. Saamy Square is Hari's sequel to his 2003 blockbuster Saamy, with Vikram playing both father and son and Bobby Simha as the villain. Keerthy Suresh joins as the new heroine, while Aishwarya Rajesh steps into the role played by Trisha in the first film. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music, and the film moves at Hari's trademark breakneck pace.
