The title translates roughly as "wife in the house, sweetheart in the kitchen", and that is the comic engine of this 1990s Telugu family comedy. Venkatesh plays a decent man who, through a chain of misunderstandings and obligations, ends up tied to two women, played by Soundarya and Vineetha, and must juggle them under one roof without either finding out the full truth. The fun lies in the near-misses, the lies piled on lies and the ensemble of comedians around him. Director E. V. V. Satyanarayana was the leading Telugu comedy filmmaker of the decade, and this was one of several popular films that paired Venkatesh with Soundarya, one of the most successful screen couples of 1990s Telugu cinema.
