Kantri is a 2008 Telugu action film and the directorial debut of Meher Ramesh, starring Jr. NTR as Kranthi, a brash orphan who grows up on the streets and wants nothing less than to become a big-time don. His swagger brings him to the notice of powerful gangsters and into a rivalry that turns deadly, while romance arrives in the shape of Hansika Motwani, in one of her earliest Telugu roles, and Tanisha Mukherjee. Prakash Raj and Ashish Vidyarthi play figures from the underworld. The film is built around NTR's energy, his dancing and a stream of fights set to Mani Sharma's music.
