Enakkul Oruvan (1984)

A successful singer begins to suffer strange visions and a tune that won't leave his head: a hillside, a temple, a woman, a car speeding towards him. Following the clues, he travels to the place he keeps seeing and starts to uncover the story of a man killed decades earlier, and of the people who profited from his death, who are still very much around. Enakkul Oruvan ("someone within me") is the Tamil remake of Subhash Ghai's reincarnation thriller Karz (1980), directed by S. P. Muthuraman, who made many of the biggest commercial Tamil hits of the era. Kamal Haasan leads, with Shobana as the heroine and Sripriya as the cool, dangerous woman at the heart of the past crime.
