Papanasam (2015)

Suyambulingam is a self-made, rather stingy cable-TV operator in a small town near Tirunelveli, who left school early but has watched so many films that they have taught him almost everything he knows. He lives happily with his wife Rani and their two daughters. When an incident involving his elder daughter and a boy from a powerful family brings the police to his door, Suyambulingam has to keep his family safe, and he matches wits with a formidable police officer who will not let the case go. Papanasam is Jeethu Joseph's own Tamil remake of his Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam (2013), with Kamal Haasan speaking the local Tirunelveli dialect. It was a big hit, and Gautami's role marked her return to the screen after a long break.
