Dozakh in Search of Heaven (2015)

Dozakh ('hell') is a small independent Hindi drama written and directed by Zaigham Imam, based on his own novel. Set in Varanasi, it is about a young boy whose questions and friendships cut across the lines between Hindus and Muslims, and about how the adults around him, including religious figures, react. It is a serious, low-budget film about faith, tolerance and childhood rather than a mainstream entertainer, and it was shown at film festivals before a limited release.
