12-12-1950 (2017)

12-12-1950 is a 2017 Tamil comedy directed by Selva, who also plays the lead, with Thambi Ramaiah and Yogi Babu in the main supporting roles. The title is the date of birth of superstar Rajinikanth, and the film draws on the devotion of his fans for much of its humour. It belongs to the wave of small-scale Tamil comedies of the late 2010s that leaned on the timing of character actors such as Thambi Ramaiah and a then-rising Yogi Babu.
