Sajan Bina Suhagan is a Saawan Kumar family melodrama starring Nutan, with Rajendra Kumar and Vinod Mehra. Like many of the director's films it centres on a woman whose life is shaped by love, loss and the duties of a wife and mother, and asks how far she will go to hold her family together. The film is best known today for Usha Khanna's music, especially "Madhuban Khushboo Deta Hai", sung by K. J. Yesudas, which remains one of the most loved songs of its time. It is a film for viewers who enjoy the emotional, song-led family dramas of 1970s Hindi cinema.
