The King of Bollywood (2004)

Karan Kumar was once the biggest star in Bombay, but younger heroes have taken his place and he refuses to notice. Surrounded by flatterers and haunted by his own legend, he clings to the image of the eternal hero while the industry moves on around him. Piyush Jha's second feature after Chalo America, made largely in English with plenty of Hindi, is a satire on stardom and the film business, with Om Puri playing broadly against type as the vain, ageing star, opposite British model and writer Sophie Dahl.
