Ghunghroo Ki Awaaz (1981)

Ghunghroo Ki Awaaz ("the sound of ankle bells") is a 1981 Hindi suspense film directed by Shyam and Tulsi Ramsay, whose family studio made the low-budget horror films that became a genre of their own in the 1970s and 1980s. Unusually for a Ramsay production it features a mainstream star, Rekha, and leans more towards a mystery-thriller built around eerie sounds and a hidden past than towards monsters. Detailed accounts of the plot are scarce. It is of interest to fans of the Ramsays and of Rekha's early-1980s work.
