On a single Independence Day, dozens of houses across Chennai are robbed in a carefully planned operation, and one of them is the home of an army major's family, from which his grandfather's gallantry medal is taken. Teaming up with a police officer played by Shraddha Srinath, he follows the trail of data and patterns behind the burglaries and finds a cold, clever opponent who uses online information to choose victims. Chakra is a cyber-crime thriller produced by and starring Vishal, with Regina Cassandra in a striking antagonist's role. It plays on fears about data privacy and online fraud, and Yuvan Shankar Raja's background score keeps the cat-and-mouse chase moving.
