Shiva, a tough police officer, is given an unusual assignment: to protect the daughter of a key witness against a dangerous criminal. To stay close to her without arousing suspicion, he must enrol in her college in Ooty as a student, despite being far too old for it. Between keeping an eye on the girl, dealing with classmates, falling for a lecturer played by Nayanthara and watching out for the killers closing in, Shiva also discovers a personal link to the case. Aegan is a Tamil remake of the Shah Rukh Khan hit Main Hoon Na, and was the directorial debut of choreographer Raju Sundaram, brother of Prabhu Deva. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the songs.
