Description

Minal, Falak and Andrea are independent working women sharing a flat in South Delhi. After a night out goes badly wrong, Minal strikes a man who tried to assault her, and his powerful friends turn the tables: soon the women are being harassed, smeared and charged, while the men claim to be the victims. Their reclusive neighbour Deepak Sehgal, an ailing retired lawyer, steps out of retirement to fight their case. Pink is a tense courtroom drama about consent and the way society judges women, and its closing argument, summed up in the line "No means no", became one of the most quoted moments of recent Hindi cinema. Directed by Bengali filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury in his Hindi debut and produced by Shoojit Sircar, it won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues and was widely praised for Amitabh Bachchan's and Taapsee Pannu's performances.
