A powerful gangster from Mumbai falls gravely ill, and the only cure depends on blood of an extremely rare group. His men scour the country and trace a single match: Kiran, an ordinary young man in Hyderabad who has his own reasons for staying out of their hands. What follows is a tense cat-and-mouse chase in which the hunters and the hunted keep switching places. Okkadunnadu comes from Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, a director admired in Telugu cinema for unconventional, tightly written thrillers such as Aithe and Anukokunda Oka Roju. Gopichand, until then known largely for villain and mass-hero roles, gets a smarter, more grounded part, and Marathi filmmaker-actor Mahesh Manjrekar makes a menacing antagonist.
