Dil Hi To Hai (1963)

Dil Hi To Hai is a 1963 Hindi romantic comedy-drama starring Raj Kapoor and Nutan, with Pran in support. Its reputation rests above all on Roshan's score and Sahir Ludhianvi's lyrics. Manna Dey's classical Laga Chunari Mein Daag, picturised on Raj Kapoor, is one of the best-loved semi-classical songs in Hindi cinema, and the qawwali Nigahen Milane Ko Jee Chahta Hai, sung by Asha Bhosle, is a standard of the form. The pairing of Raj Kapoor and Nutan, after Anari, adds to its charm. A must for lovers of golden-age Hindi film music.
