Giri and Gowri are twins who have done everything together since childhood and still live as each other's best friends and protectors. Their easy routine is upset when a young woman enters Giri's life and old enemies resurface, putting the siblings in danger. Doubles is a Malayalam action comedy built around the unusual pairing of Mammootty and Nadia Moidu as twins, and it was the Malayalam debut of Taapsee Pannu, who was then working mainly in Telugu films. It was the first feature by director Sohan Seenulal.
