Brahmanaidu is the respected and much-feared leader of a village in the Palnadu region of Andhra Pradesh, whose word is law and who protects the villagers against a rival clan known for its cruelty. The film follows the bloody rivalry between the two factions, with family drama, romance and grand set-piece fights. Sonali Bendre and Aarthi Agarwal play the female leads. B. Gopal and Balakrishna had earlier made the faction hits Samarasimha Reddy and Narasimha Naidu together, and this film follows the same formula of a larger-than-life hero, booming dialogue and spectacular action, with music by Mani Sharma. Some of its over-the-top stunts later became the subject of popular jokes among Telugu audiences.
