Kurbaan (2009)

Avantika, a professor in Delhi, falls in love with Ehsaan, a charming fellow lecturer, and after their wedding they move to New York, where both take jobs at a university. Their new life seems happy until Avantika begins to notice strange things about their neighbours and her husband's circle, and stumbles onto evidence of a terror plot. Isolated in a foreign city and unsure whom to trust, she is drawn into a dangerous game, while a journalist, Riyaaz, is investigating the same network from the outside. Kurbaan was the debut of writer- director Rensil D'Silva, who had co-written Rang De Basanti. Its first poster, showing Kareena Kapoor's bare back, caused a stir.
