Narasimha (2001)

Narasimha is a 2001 Tamil action film directed by Thirupathisamy, with Vijayakanth in the title role and Isha Koppikar as the heroine. Vijayakanth plays a fearless, patriotic officer who takes on a terrorist network and the corrupt people shielding it, in the kind of one-man-army role that made him a mass hero. The film is full of action set pieces, punch dialogue and songs, with Mani Sharma composing the music. Its director, Thirupathisamy, had earlier made the hit Azad in Telugu; he died in a road accident in 2001, and Narasimha was his last film.
