A young prince and a poor village boy turn out to be exact look-alikes, and when they swap places, the prince experiences the hardships of the poor while the village boy finds himself in the palace, surrounded by courtiers and plotters. Raja Aur Runk ('The King and the Pauper') is an Indian adaptation of Mark Twain's The Prince and the Pauper, directed by K. Pratyagatma, with child actor Mahesh Kothare in the double role and Sanjeev Kumar, Kumkum and Nirupa Roy in the adult cast. Laxmikant–Pyarelal's songs include Lata Mangeshkar's tender ode to motherhood, 'Tu Kitni Achchhi Hai, Tu Kitni Bholi Hai', which is still widely sung.
