Sameer (2017)

Following a string of blasts, an anti-terror squad picks up Sameer, an ordinary young Muslim man, and pressures him to go undercover to track down a suspect. Against his will he is sent among strangers in another city, playing a role, while the investigators push him and the line between hunter and suspect starts to blur. Sameer is a political thriller about how terror investigations can target and use ordinary people, and about prejudice and the press. It was directed by Dakxin Chhara, a filmmaker and theatre activist from the Chhara community of Ahmedabad, and gave a lead role to Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub.
