Mili Chakravarty is a scatterbrained, warm-hearted physiotherapist from Delhi who takes on a job at the palace of a Rajasthani royal family to treat the wheelchair-bound king. The household is run with iron discipline by the queen, Nirmala Devi, and its rules are followed to the letter by her serious, reserved son Vikram, who is about to be engaged. Mili ignores the rules, says what she thinks, and slowly brings laughter and life back to the family, while she and Vikram find themselves drawn to each other. The film is loosely inspired by Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1980 Khoobsurat, which starred Rekha. It marked the Bollywood debut of the Pakistani star Fawad Khan, whose charm made him an instant favourite with Indian audiences, and the songs include "Engine ki seeti" and "Abhi toh party shuru hui hai".
