Kavan (2017)

Thilak joins a big Chennai news channel hoping to do honest journalism, only to find that its owner bends every story to suit politicians and businessmen. When the channel buries the truth about a crime involving a powerful man, Thilak and his colleague Malar quit and join a small, struggling channel run by the eccentric Moorthy. With no money but plenty of nerve, the team use hidden cameras, live broadcasts and clever stunts to fight back against their former employer and its patrons. Kavan ("the slingshot") is K. V. Anand's satire of media manipulation, made after his earlier media-themed thriller Ko, and it gave the veteran filmmaker and actor T. Rajendar a lively comeback role.
