Adi is a happy-go-lucky young man who lives with his large family in an old bungalow and is the favourite of all the children around him. When he is killed in an accident, he is not ready to leave, especially because a greedy builder wants to grab the family home. Adi gives Yamraj, the god of death, the slip and returns as a ghost whom only the children can see, using his new powers to fight for his family. The film's chief attraction is Sanjay Dutt as a comic, modern-day Yamraj who comes to Earth to retrieve the runaway soul, alongside Shahid Kapoor in one of his early roles and Amrita Rao as the girl he loves. It is a family fantasy aimed especially at children.
