Bhagat Gora Kumbhar (1978)

Gora Kumbhar was a potter from Terhi in Maharashtra and one of the saints of the Varkari tradition, a contemporary of Sant Namdev and Sant Dnyaneshwar. The legends say that he sang Lord Vitthal's name as he worked his clay, and that his devotion carried him through great personal trials and tested his family's faith to the limit. This devotional film tells his life and miracles in the traditional style of 1970s mythological and saint films, with bhajans at its heart. Arvind Trivedi, later famous as Ravan in the television Ramayan, plays the saint, with Rajni Bala as his wife.
