United Kacche (2023)

Tango Gill comes to the United Kingdom from Punjab with big dreams and no legal right to remain. Living among other undocumented migrants and getting by on odd jobs, he hatches plan after plan to secure a British passport, from cons to a marriage of convenience, each one landing him in deeper trouble. The title plays on the slang "kacche", meaning those without proper papers. United Kacche is a Hindi comedy web series led by Sunil Grover, best known for his television comedy characters, and it mixes broad humour with a sympathetic picture of the risks and loneliness of illegal migration. It was filmed largely in England.
