Lakshmi (2006)

Lakshmi Narayana is the hard-working son who has built up the family business and treats his father's other children as his own responsibility, even though not all of them return his loyalty. His world is shaken when greedy relatives and a rival businessman conspire against him, and he has to defend both the company and the people he loves without losing his principles. Romance arrives in the shape of Nayanthara and Charmy Kaur. Directed by mass-film specialist V. V. Vinayak, Lakshmi combines Venkatesh's family-man image with punchy action and comedy, and it was a commercial success for him in 2006.
