Ajay Kumar, known as AK, is the best operative in an international counter-terror squad, devoted to his wife Yazhini and to his best friend and teammate Aryan. While tracking a hacker linked to a conspiracy to trigger artificial earthquakes with buried nuclear devices, AK is betrayed, left for dead and branded a traitor, and must fight his way back against the people who know his every move. Vivegam is a large-scale spy action thriller, the third pairing of Ajith and director Siva after Veeram and Vedalam, filmed extensively in Eastern Europe. It marked the Tamil debut of Vivek Oberoi as the villain and of Akshara Haasan, and Ajith's physical transformation for the role was much discussed. Anirudh's score included the anthem "Surviva".
