Up in the heavens, Yamraj and his record-keeper Chitragupta discover that a precious book listing the future of every person has fallen to earth. It lands in the hands of a cheerful but penniless young man trying to save his mother and their family home. With the future at his fingertips he rises fast, wins the girl he loves and outwits a dangerous gang, while Yamraj and Chitragupta wander the modern city in hilarious confusion trying to get their book back. Taqdeerwala is the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit Yamaleela (1994), produced by D. Ramanaidu with Telugu star Venkatesh in the lead in one of his rare Hindi films. Kader Khan's comic Yamraj is a highlight.
