Jwar Bhata (1973)

Jwar Bhata ("high tide and low tide") is a 1973 Hindi drama directed by the Telugu filmmaker Adurthi Subba Rao, pairing Dharmendra with Saira Banu. As the title suggests, it follows the ups and downs of its characters' lives, with romance, family conflict and reversals of fortune, set to songs by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Adurthi Subba Rao, one of the respected directors of Telugu cinema, made a handful of Hindi films in this period. The film shares its title with the 1944 film that marked Dilip Kumar's screen debut, but it is an entirely different story.
