Krishna is a good-natured but cowardly young man from Hindupur who has been secretly in love with Mahalakshmi for years. The problem is her elder brother, a powerful factionist whom Krishna works for and fears more than anyone. Just as he is trying to find the nerve to confess, he is saddled with the responsibility of taking care of three small children, and soon discovers that dangerous people from Hyderabad want them dead. The film mixes romance, comedy and crime, and much of its fun comes from watching the frightened hero forced into bravery. It was Mehreen Pirzada's first film, and Nani's warm, comic performance helped it become a hit. Director Hanu Raghavapudi, who later made Sita Ramam, gives it a distinctive rural look, and Vishal Chandrashekhar's music was well received.
