Gair Kaanooni (1989)

Gair Kaanooni ('illegal') is a 1989 Hindi masala film directed by Prayag Raj, the writer behind several Manmohan Desai hits, including Coolie, which he co-directed. It brings together Govinda and Sridevi as the young leads, with Rajinikanth and Shashi Kapoor in strong supporting roles and Kimi Katkar, and mixes comedy, family drama and action in the full-blown style of the era. The music is by Bappi Lahiri. Rajinikanth was then making regular appearances in Hindi films alongside his Tamil career.
