Description

Sultan Mirza grew up poor on Bombay's docks and became its most powerful smuggler, yet he keeps a rule: no drugs, no harm to the ordinary people who see him as their protector. Shoaib Khan, a hungry young hoodlum and the son of a policeman, wins his way into Sultan's circle and soon sees the old man's principles as a weakness. A police officer, ACP Agnel Wilson, watches the two men and tells the story of how the city's underworld changed hands. Milan Luthria's period gangster film is loosely inspired by the eras of Haji Mastan and the rise of Dawood Ibrahim, and it was a big hit, admired for its punchy dialogue, its retro look and Ajay Devgn's stately Sultan. Pritam's songs, especially 'Pee Loon' and 'Tum Jo Aaye', were chart-toppers.
