Gowri (2004)

Gowri is a 2004 Telugu action drama directed by B. V. Ramana. Sumanth, of the Akkineni film family, plays the lead, with Charmy Kaur, then one of the busiest young heroines in Telugu films, opposite him. Atul Kulkarni, the stage-trained actor who won National Awards for Hey Ram and Chandni Bar, appears in an important role. The film works in the mainstream mix of action, romance and family emotion of Telugu cinema in the mid-2000s. It is not widely discussed today, but it offers a look at Sumanth and Charmy early in their careers.
