Broker (2010)

Broker is a Telugu social drama directed by composer R. P. Patnaik, who also composed its music and acts in it alongside Srihari and Keerthi Chawla. The film looks at the culture of brokers and fixers who take a cut from every transaction an ordinary citizen has to make, from government offices to politics, and follows how one such operator's work collides with conscience and with the lives of the people around him. It is a modest, message-driven film and was one of Patnaik's attempts to move from music into direction, with Srihari's strong screen presence at its centre.
